Encore Version Differences

Adobe Premiere Version Life Cycle

Encore 1.0

Encore 1.5

Encore 2.0

Encore 1.0

I have used Encore since its first release as my primary DVD authoring/burning tool. From day one I have had a very good experience with it. I don't do real complex menus, so some of the early bugs in this version I never experienced. A great tool.

Encore 1.5

Playlists, background transcoding, Enhanced library palette, quicktime support were all added in the release along with a bunch of bug fixes.

Encore 2.0

Main Features added: Create automated Slide shows with background audio, Visual Flowchart, Multiple video clips on one timeline, new panel UI, adobe bridge, chapter playlists, dts audio support, xmp metadata support, automated chapter menus.

Encore is getting better and better. Chapter playlists is a big feature for me. Now a "Play all" and individual screens are easily created without duplicating assets. Flowchart is nice, but since I learned to author without it, it's hard for me to use it instead of traditional methods. Slide show is nice, but I rarely do canned sideshows to take advantage of it.

A solid version; very stable.
